Travelling to the city

On landing at Edinburgh Airport, which is 8 miles from the city centre, you can take a cab or bus to your final destination, usually a 25 minute journey. Private taxis and city cabs are available from the east side of the terminal building (UK Arrivals) and cost approximately £4 per person. The Airlink 100 bus service runs from the main entrance every 10 minutes and costs £3.50 single fare or £6 return.

Places to stay

If you're on a budget then Ten Hill Place Hotel is a good value choice for business travellers with free Internet and only a short walk from the Royal Mile. For a more sumptuous getaway, head for The Witchery by the Castle, described as "The perfect lust den". Book the Inner Sanctum room with its four-poster bed and dramatic decor for an unforgettable romantic break.

Places to visit

If you're into architecture then Edinburgh won't disappoint. An official UNESCO World Heritage Site, there are over 4500 listed buildings so you'll be spoilt for choice. From the Greek neo-classical Royal Scottish Academy (a must for art-lovers) to the futuristic and contemporary Hotel Missoni on St. George IV Bridge, wandering around this vibrant city is a delight, especially at night.

Edinburgh is renowned for its fine dining - try the new ‘pickledgreen' restaurant on Rose Street for eco-friendly but fun cuisine in relaxed and tasteful surroundings. Next, head to The Jazz Bar on Chambers Street for the ‘Early Gig', and enjoy some of the best jazz and funk sounds to finish off the perfect evening.

To experience the real flavour of Edinburgh consider the Edinburgh Festival, which takes place every August. Encompassing theatre, music, dance, visual arts and comedy, it's the largest and most exciting cultural event in the world and with frequent flights from lots of destinations you don't have to miss out! Book with us now to experience everything the wonderful capital of Scotland has to offer.
